Types of Air tools

Air tools also known as pneumatic tools, are devices powered by compressed air power. The mechanism is simple as the compressed air with pressure greater than atmospheric pressure is expanded to a lower pressure; this enables it to push a piston, which passes through a small air turbine to turn a shaft.

There are various types of air tools available on the market with some of the most common types of air tools being: air sanding machines, pneumatic hammers, pneumatic hack saws, pneumatic screwdrivers, pneumatic paint guns, pneumatic nailers, pneumatic tapping machines, pneumatic polishers, air impact wrenches, pneumatic drills, air ratchets, air die grinding tools, air cut-off machines, spray guns and air blow guns, etc.

Air tools are commonly cheaper and safer to run and maintain than power tools because its working mechanism is simpler than complicated electric motors. Light to heavy production industries such as mechanics, large production workshops, factories, assembly lines etc. tend to use air tools for its massive power output. Air tools are also used in the medical field, especially dentistry as well as for household tasks and chores.
